The Round Table – May 10, 2013

by Jon Dulin · 9 comments

Last weekend I finally got out to play some golf. I’ve been itching to do so but just couldn’t find the time. I played half-decent and am OK with it since it was my first time out since last year. I’m oping to sneak out again relatively soon. Things are still super busy with me and I am just looking forward to a relaxing weekend. Unfortunately, I don’t see that happening until maybe July. June is going to be super crazy with birthdays, weddings, holidays, etc.

Some great news is the the stock market is on a tear! It’s interesting to read people’s arguments for an against a pullback of the market. As you know, I preach long-term investing so if you have cash to invest, I say go ahead and throw it in the market. You have time on your side and that is your best friend when it comes to investing.

Thanks so much for the mention, I really appreciate it! I am loving that the market is up as it’s been quite nice to our portfolio. My thoughts are exactly the same, take this in light of the long term view. If there is a pullback, then I can buy in at a discount to boot. :) Have a great weekend sir!

Thanks a lot for the mention, I really appreciate it! I have not paid much attention to the stock market. Like you, I am in this for a long run. I don’t feel I have enough knowledge to know when you pull out and when to get back in again. So stay put it is.

Golf? I’m actually going to play Memorial Day weekend on Hilton Head. I’m sure there are crowds of people there I can upset with my horrible golf game….

Ha! I just played last night after work. I was by myself and caught up to a two-some on a par 3. They were approaching the green and waived me to play through. My first shot was just short of the green; my second was a chip within 3 feet of the cup; my third was for par. The one many said to me “you make it look so easy!” I replied that you get lucky with this game every now and then. That was by far my best hole of the round!

I appreciate you including my site. I am happy for the markets. Since I have many, many years until I plan on retiring, I don’t see any issue if there is a correction. I will buy more stock and then let it ride.
